Why Registration Matters: A Conversation with NCPWD Leadership

An online conversation with NCPWD leadership on why disability registration matters, ahead of ASNEN's 5 December 2026 Disability Registration Day.

About this event

What to expect

Ahead of our Disability Registration Day on 5 December 2026, join ASNEN and leadership from the National Council for Persons with Disabilities (NCPWD) for an open conversation on why registration matters: what it unlocks for persons with disabilities and their caregivers, and why so many eligible families in Kenya remain unregistered.

  • NCPWD leadership session

What registration unlocks, and where the gaps are.

  • Open Q&A

Two-part initiative

Part 2: get registered

This conversation is the first step. Disability Registration Day on 5 December 2026 is where families can complete registration and medical assessment in person.

From the field

We have done this before

Four registration events delivered to date, most recently in Embakasi (March 2026). Komolion 2023 remains a published case study of the same model.

Pre-Registration Webinar · 23 November 2026 · Disability Registration Day · 5 December 2026

ASNEN, together with the National Council for Persons with Disabilities (NCPWD) and the Ministry of Health, is running two connected engagements this season: an online webinar on why disability registration matters, followed by a day-long registration and medical assessment camp for 500 children, caregivers and adults with disabilities across six Nairobi wards.

Registration is not a one-day benefit. It is the gateway to devolved funds, bursaries, assistive devices and legal protections, yet many eligible families remain unregistered simply because services never reach them. This is a single investment producing an ongoing return for 500 households.
